executive vice president / chief financial officer / principal
If you don't do it excellently, don't do it at all. Because if it's not excellent, it won't be profitable or fun and if you're not in business for fun or profit, what the hell are you doing there?
Al controls the monetary arms of Metropolitan Group. He maintains the purse strings, striving to keep the firm on course with its fundamental goals and ever aware of the importance of staff efficiency. He brings more than 20 years of financial and administrative experience to this task.
Al is a CPA and began his career in Houston with a large national public accounting firm. After leaving public accountancy, he was tapped to manage a nine-member startup service organization where he was responsible for all administrative, operational, and financial matters. During his tenure, the firm grew to over 100 employees and became one of the most profitable in its field. Tired of the oppressive heat and humidity of Houston, he fled to the Pacific Northwest and found a home in Oregon.
When not behind a calculator or in front of a PC, you can find Al in the Columbia Gorge at his getaway retreat with Buster, his overactive golden retriever, and Penelope, an overweight basset hound. Al is also an avid traveler attempting to visit the “Seven Wonders of the World.” He can also be easily amused or disgusted by political matters of the day.
