President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities: 2014 Youth Awards PR

On November 22, 2013, MG directed the public relations outreach on behalf of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in announcing the 12 winners of the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards. First Lady Michelle Obama presented the awards in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House. MG developed the media outreach strategy and messaging for the national program and the 12 community-based awardees across the country, provided training and technical assistance to the awardees in maximizing media coverage of the award, and worked in collaboration with the White House Press Office to communicate the news through the national press corps. Each of the programs was recognized for achieving measurable outcomes for youth in underserved communities by engaging them in the arts or the humanities.
