Over several years, Metropolitan Group has supported the work of the Ford Foundation and its grantees.
Ford’s Youth Sexuality Initiative grantees include the Face Value Project, the Public Health Institute, University of Arizona, University of Illinois-Chicago, University of Michigan, and San Francisco State University. Through TA grants funded by Ford, MG helped these grantees identify and implement strategies to communicate preliminary and ongoing research findings and messages to diverse stakeholders — academics, policy makers at local, state, and national levels, those directly impacted by public policy (youth, their communities and families), and advocates who are actively working to shape policy initiatives. Many of the grantees in this initiative were focused on the intersections of race, gender, class and sexuality and the additional disparities experienced by youth. Our work helped grantees and their community partners amplify youth voice on the issues that impact them, disseminate lessons learned to the field and help shift the public discourse.
