An essential aspect of Metropolitan Group’s mission is contributing to community. From the clients we help empower to amplify their message, to investing our personal time and money to the issues we care about most deeply, we believe that walking the talk is critical.

Sherri is a board member for Envision Education, Lonnie chairs the Friends of the Woodstock Community Center, Karen is a board member of the School-Based Health Alliance, and Vicky co-chairs the marketing committee for the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Chicago. From volunteering with local projects to steering a national board of directors, well over half of our team members contribute their own time to causes outside of the office. We care about our communities’ cultures and schools, its environment and its health. As a collective, we gave over 1600 hours of community service in 2013.

Community impact is one of the main sections that determines overall scoring in B Lab’s B Impact Assessment. We were evaluated on our supplier relations, staff diversity, community involvement and job creation, among other metrics. All of the information is public and available online, and we take great pride and commit to the importance of this assessment as a transparent reflection of our business.

While recognition is never our aim when it comes to our commitment to community, we are nevertheless very proud to announce that B Lab has honored MG as Best for Community Impact in 2014. We earned this recognition by ranking in the top 10% of small businesses in the community section of the B Impact Assessment. We believe in being a truly socially responsible business through our supplier relationships, the clients we help, and the time we invest in our communities.
