Tiff Harris is a communication, resource mobilization and management specialist who has devoted his career to agricultural research and development on behalf of the poor in developing countries. He has lived and worked overseas for the past 25 years and currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya. He spent 24 years with the Future Harvest agricultural research and development system, which comprises 15 international research centers located in Africa, Asia and the Americas. The Future Harvest system is supported by a consortium of more than 60 governments, the World Bank and a number of private foundations.

Tiff has established his own consulting firm, Impact Management International, which provides marketing, communication, fundraising and management support to several Future Harvest centers, to regional and national agricultural research organizations, and to NGOs working to make a difference in the lives of the poor in developing countries. Recent clients include CARE International, Heifer Project International, the World Agroforestry Centre, and The MDG Centre (a new organization focused on helping governments achieve the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals).

Tiff has a bachelor of science degree in natural resource economics from Colorado State University, a master’s degree in natural resource economics and extension methods from Oregon State University (OSU), and also did doctoral studies in international trade and economic development at OSU. He has highly developed donor relations skills, as well as substantial experience in strategic human resources, finance and administration, and senior-level management. Tiff is also skilled in organizational and cultural change, strategic business planning, and risk management assessment.

Tiff’s personal interests include travel in developing countries, photography, scuba diving, meditation and music of all kinds.
