Carole Leonhardt
Director
As a director in MG’s multicultural communication practice area, Carole is passionate about creating a space for civil discourse, respect and bridging cultural differences. She has more than 10 years of experience providing cultural competency strategies to nonprofits, foundations, businesses and individuals. Her work helps ensure quality preparation and increased awareness for anyone working with business leaders, government officials and others across global and cultural boundaries.
Carole’s romance with cross-cultural communication and international protocol dates back to 1984, when she first traveled to the Middle East and southern Europe and experienced the richness of cultural diversity as expressed through traditions and mores. Since then, her travels have taken her to more than 30 countries and such far-flung areas of the world as Borneo and Turkey, China and Italy.
In addition to her protocol responsibilities, Carole manages the administrative operations of the company. Her professionalism and clarity are at the heart of her work at MG, whether it’s managing the company’s human resource function or troubleshooting a client’s needs. As assistant to the president, she interacts with clients across the country, and internationally, managing a myriad of administrative details. Her valuable skill set includes project management, research and analysis, human resources, and exceptional customer relations. Prior to joining Metropolitan Group, Carole worked for a Fortune 500 financial company.
Carole holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Riverside. She received her training and certification in Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol from the Protocol School of Washington in Washington, D.C.
When she’s not working, Carole volunteers her time for organizations supporting arts and culture as well as human rights. She also can be found collecting contemporary glass, listening to jazz, enjoying foreign films, reading an eclectic choice of books and planning her next travel adventure.
