Kirsten Gunst
Associate
Kirsten serves as an associate in MG’s Portland office, providing support in media relations, resource development, strategic communication and new business development. Her background in nonprofit and community service work has given her the skills and drive to contribute to social change.
Kirsten is currently working with the Oregon Public Division’s Tobacco Prevention and Education Program, serving as project coordinator and providing technical assistance. Other current and recent clients include West Hollywood Library, Washington State Library, Western Rivers Conservancy, Realty Trust and New Seasons Market.
Before joining MG, Kirsten spent three years at Planned Parenthood of the Columbia/Willamette working in patient services. She also coordinated and implemented the Teen Clinic after-school program. In addition, she served as a member of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Affiliate Branded Products Advisory Committee.
The desire to make a change in the world began at an early age. While in high school, Kirsten organized and led volunteer efforts of 15 high schools while serving on the California-Nevada-Hawaii board for Key Club International, a community service organization. She currently volunteers at Planned Parenthood and is a founding board member of the St. Johns Farmers Market.
Kirsten has a degree in rhetoric and media studies from Willamette University. In her spare time, she runs her own jewelry business, dabbles in website development and has become an avid traveler, with recent trips to Japan and southern Africa. Although born and raised in San Diego, she thrives in the rainy Pacific Northwest and looks forward to the changing seasons.
